Forensic Investigations
We apply the principles of forensic science when investigating criminal and or civil crimes, as governed by the legal standards of admissible evidence and criminal procedures.
As forensic investigators we collect, preserve, and analyse evidence during the course of a forensic investigation. During a forensic investigation we dispatch forensic investigators to the scene of the crime to collect the evidence themselves, whilst other members of the team will occupy a forensic laboratory role, performing data analysis and digital forensic examinations. Taken together, then, our forensic investigations approach can be seen as the use of the scientific methods and processes in crime solving.
During a forensic investigation our team can consist of Legal Experts, Chartered Accountants, Accountants, Forensic Investigators and Digital Forensic Examiners. The benefit of having Legal Experts as part of the team our clients enjoy the protection of legal-professional privilege and our forensic investigative reports, client advice and correspondence, inter alia, would be protected against subpoena or forced disclosure to third parties. The legal aspects relating to any matter investigated are also dealt with in the form of legal opinions, which is an added dimension to reporting which accounting firms and most other service providers are precluded from providing. We are also able to act as initiators at disciplinary proceedings. In addition to the forensic investigation we render expert witness testimony in both criminal and civil cases and can work for either the prosecution or the defence.
